Weird Things Dwyane Wade Said During All-Star Weekend
For as much as Dwyane Wade is beloved in the city of Miami, he has done some weird things in just the beginning of the All-Star weekend. This will mark the first time in the last decade that Wade will be sitting out of the entire weekend of festivities. This is a strange thing for fans to see.
One of the biggest reasons that it is such a shock is that he is a celebrity of the weekend. He has won an All-Star MVP, and he has been the winner of the skill challenge. This year, since his injuries that have kept him out regular season Heat games, he has opted not to play.
His reasoning is that since he has been out Heat regular season games, he doesn’t think it would be particularly good to the fans for him to play in the game, just to say he was an All-Star. So he allowed someone else to play.
In the meantime, he is choosing other activities to participate in, and they have been strange. Mainly, he has been a part of the media, trying to bring the activities to the fans, make it so that they can connect with an NBA player. Two things that he did stand out as pretty strange.
1. Dwyane Wade is taking Gabrielle Union to see Fifty Shades of Grey.
It is not just that taking your wife to see Fifty Shades of Grey is a weird date, but it’s also looking at the film for pointers that is even weirder.
TMZ was able to catch up with the All-Star shooting guard in New York, where the game is being held, and he said, “I wanna learn something,”…”I’m married, you gotta keep it up.”
Although he admitted that he had not read the novel, he said that he got the “Cliff notes” to the book and will be checking out the movie. He is going to take his wife Gabrielle Union, whom he married in August 2014.
2. Dwyane Wade interviewed LeBron James for media day.
I would say that this is the one of the more awkward things that happened. Right before this interview, the Cleveland Cavaliers finished beating down the Miami Heat, with Wade sitting helplessly on the bench. He was unable to help his team.

Let’s not also forget that James used to be a member of the Heat, where he helped take them to four straight NBA Finals appearances and two NBA championships. When they were beaten by the San Antonio Spurs, LeBron opted to sign with the Cavaliers rather than remain with the Heat.
During the offseason, Wade opted out of his contract and took less money so that James could stay on the Heat roster.
LeBron left anyway.
So evidently, there is no bad blood between the pair, always showing love to each other publicly, and even to the point where LeBron went to Wade’s wedding. Wade interviewed LeBron after he had just become vice president of the Player’s Association.
