3. Mark Jackson

At this point in the season, no one can say that the Golden State Warriors would’ve been better off keeping Mark Jackson instead of hiring Steve Kerr. At the time of Jackson’s firing though, it felt like a major mistake. Jackson had turned the young Dubs into an elite defense and playoff contender on the rise.

Kerr may have advanced the offense, but Jackson deserves a ton of credit for building a winning culture in Golden State. Can you think of a more fitting description for the kind of head coach the Magic desperately need with this slow and steady rebuild?

The Magic need a defensive-minded coach, as their D ranks 25th in the league. Jackson has already taken a young core and turned them into winners once, so even though Nikola Vucevic is no Andrew Bogut defensively, Jackson would have the tools at his disposal to help Orlando take the next step forward.
