NBA Player Power Rankings: Can Anyone Overthrow the Leader?
By Greg Chin
8. Blake Griffin (Los Angeles Clippers)
In the game against the San Antonio Spurs, Blake Griffin showcased to the league what he’s truly capable of.
Dropping 31 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, and an efficient 12-of-21 shooting performance, Griffin was the game’s best player by far. He went to the line seven times, knocking down all seven of his free throw attempts. His shooting was improved significantly this season, and he’s looked really confident stepping out into the midrange and knocking down those shots.
In a recent Player’s Tribune article, Griffin detailed his offseason training regimen. He’s been working with his shooting coach, refining his shooting technique and improving his confidence in his jump shooting ability. He admitted that cutting down on his dunks and battles in the paint will help with his fitness and health especially since the NBA season is a marathon – so there’s a chance that we might see an even spryer Blake Griffin in the coming months.
