1. Andrew Wiggins – Minnesota Timberwolves/SF

Last Week: No. 1

The highlight of Andrew Wiggins’ week came when he scored a career-high 31 points when he played against the Denver Nuggets.

Wiggins was extremely efficient as he shot 11-for-16 from the floor. Wiggins was giving the Nuggets the complete offensive arsenal as he was nailing catch and shoot jump shots, and nailing shots off the dribble.

In addition what was really impressive was the way Wiggins was playing defense. Wiggins found himself guarding one of the best shooters in the league, the Nuggets shooting guard, Arron Afflalo, and Wiggins accepted the challenge. Before the end of the night Wiggins had two blocked shots to his name just from blocking two of Afflalo’s jump shots.

Wiggins final stat line was 31 points on 11-for-17 shooting from the floor and 4-for-5 shooting from the three-point line, nine rebounds, four assists, one steal, and three blocked shots.

There hasn’t been another rookie who’s been more impressive this month and Wiggins keeps showing why we should end the Rookie of the Year race and give him the award.
