Potential Trade Destination No. 5: San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs have built a reputation for getting the most out of players by putting them in a role where they can succeed. Expect the same result if Thornton joins the team.

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich loves to rest his older starters and regularly gives them games off, meaning depth is important. Thornton would give Popovich another proven veteran to play when Tony Parker or Manu Ginobili are taking the night off.

Thornton would also add another scoring punch off the bench for an already deep and efficient Spurs offense. If Thornton joins the Spurs, expect his offensive ratings to return to his high-scoring Sacramento days.
