Potential Trade Destination No. 4: Miami Heat

Life after LeBron has been hard for the Heat, who are struggling to earn a low playoff seed in a terrible Eastern Conference.

Part of Miami’s problems stem from the fact that three of the team’s key players — Dwyane Wade, Luol Deng and Danny Granger — struggle to stay healthy for an entire season. With the Heat’s roster, the team can never have enough wing players, and Thornton would add extra depth.

Thornton would be Wade’s primary backup, and allow Wade to rest when needed. If the Heat do make the playoffs, a rested Wade will be necessary for the team to have any hopes of advancing past the first round.
