Potential Trade Destination No. 3: Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks have one of the best starting units in the NBA. Unfortunately, their bench lacks depth and isn’t very talented.

What little (no pun intended) backcourt depth Dallas does have consists of Devin Harris and J.J. Barea — both undersized guards. Thornton would provide additional backcourt depth with the ability to guard larger, physical guards, thereby giving the team a much needed boost on both ends of the floor.

If the Mavericks have championship aspirations this season, the team must upgrade its bench. Adding a scorer like Thornton would be a good place to start.
