Boston Celtics Trade Rumors: 5 Potential Trade Destinations For Marcus Thornton
By Wally Hughes
Potential Trade Destination No. 2: Chicago Bulls
The Bulls have to regret re-signing Kirk Hinrich instead of Kyle Korver. A lineup of Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler, Korver, Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah would be possibly the best starting five in the league.
Instead, Chicago’s second wing position has been its weak link this season. Hinrich is undersized and not athletic enough to fill the role, and Mike Dunleavy and Tony Snell are both underwhelming choices as well.
If Thornton became a consistent scoring threat, he would be the perfect fit for Chicago’s offense. He would give the Bulls another scoring option on the wing, and help space the floor for Rose to drive to the basket.
If the Celtics received Taj Gibson or Nikola Mirotic in return (both would cost more than just Thornton), the trade would be a homerun for Boston. Either forward would help the Celtics during their rebuilding phase.
