The Brooklyn Nets are in talks with the Miami Heat about possibly sending over Brook Lopez. The deal isn’t near completion, so much of this article will be speculative, but here are five things that I think would help Miami if Lopez were to go to there. Of course, Miami would have to give up something for Brook Lopez, and it is unclear what that might be.
That someone, may be Luol Deng or Hassan Whiteside. Until a deal is done, we will not really know.
Getting a player of Brook Lopez’s caliber would definitely help things for the Heat, a team that have been struggling to get their footing this season. The Heat have struggled with injuries primarily, and haven’t been able to assemble their full lineup this season. Once they are healthy, they are definitely a playoff team in the East.
But if they land Brook Lopez, they might possibly be a top-four team in the East, a position that puts them in contention for the Eastern Conference championship.
