I’ll come clean right from the start: About midway through the 2014-15 season, nobody looks like they deserve the NBA’s Most Improved Player of the Year Award more than Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls. There should be no mistake about that.

But to ignore Draymond Green as a close second in that category would be a mistake. I’ve already covered how Green is also a Defensive Player of the Year candidate, but in the event the voters choose a premier shot-blocker over a player who does it all like Green, we’d be remiss not to mention him in this category as well.

Butler is hands down the frontrunner in this category, but for the sake of being thorough, let’s explore how much the Golden State Warriors’ new starting power forward has elevated his game from last season.
