Julius Erving may have had the best dunk in an NBA contest, but Vince Carter had the best dunk anywhere in the universe where the game of basketball is played.

French is often accredited as the most beautiful language. However, during Team USA’s game against France at the 2000 Olympics, the French announcers ditched their syrupy language for ooh’s and ah’s.

Vince Carter’s dunk over 7’2″ center Frederick Weis wasn’t the sole reason he earned the nickname “Vinsanity,” and that’s a shame. Carter saw Weis as an obstacle in the way of his path to the rim and decided to leap over him. Carter’s the reason why taking a charge is given a second thought in today’s game.
