28. Philadelphia 76ers

Previous: No. 28

Record: 7-30

Last Week: 2-2

Verdict: Warming Up

The Philadelphia 76ers aren’t going to win many games in 2014-15. While there’s plenty of upside, a combination of blatant tanking and Joel Embiid’s injury absence limit any immediate success.

At least the games are relatively competitive.

Michael Carter-Williams is still productive and Tony Wroten is showing signs of being a future Sixth Man of the Year candidate. K.J. McDaniels and Nerlens Noel are both quiet contenders in the Rookie of the Year race, with each also possessing elite defensive potential.

Throw in the surprisingly proficient Robert Covington and Philadelphia has a bright future.

Unfortunately, being good tomorrow means very little for today. Philly lacks any reliable offensive firepower and routinely asks a pass-first point guard, MCW, to shoot in excess of his present-day capabilities.

Until this team adds offensive weapons, it will struggle to win.
