8. Los Angeles Clippers

Previous: No. 9

Record: 25-13

Last Week: 2-1

Verdict: Heating Up

The Los Angeles Clippers earn the award for the most confusing team in the NBA. They’re just as likely to dominate one of the best teams in the league as they are to lose by double-digits.

The upside: in comparison to earlier in the season, those inconsistencies are becoming few and far between.

The Clippers’ most recent week has been nothing short of intriguing. They blew out the Los Angeles Lakers 114-89 and carried that dominance over into a 120-100 decimation of the Dallas Mavericks.

The week ended with a 104-90 home loss to the Miami Heat. Hassan Whiteside was the player who destroyed L.A.

Thus, the confusion.

Doc Rivers has a title to his name and a history of deep postseason runs. Chris Paul and Blake Griffin don’t however, and that has people offering legitimate concern for the Clippers’ ability to make a championship push.

No one can deny the talent, but Los Angeles must become a more consistent threat.
