12. Phoenix Suns

Previous: No. 12

Record: 23-18

Last Week: 2-2

Verdict: Heating Up

The Phoenix Suns’ unorthodox approach is becoming more effective by the week. Even in its losses, Phoenix is proving that it can go out and compete with any team in the association.

The next step is winning with more consistency.

It’s already beginning to happen.

Phoenix was 12-14, but it’s since gone 11-4 with impressive performances in every loss. Two of the defeats were in overtime and the other two were by five points or less.

Suddenly, Phoenix has legitimized itself.

Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic and Isaiah Thomas are all productive, but the key comes from the interior. Alex Len is coming into his own as a double-double machine and Markieff Morris is emerging as a viable scorer.

Phoenix had to dig itself a bit of an early-season hole, but it’s as hot as any team in the Western Conference.
