The Chicago Bulls are 24-10 on the season following their recent 109-104 overtime win over the Boston Celtics on Jan. 3. They lead the Central division by five games and they have the second-best record in the Eastern Conference, trailing only the Atlanta Hawks (25-8).
Along with that, the Bulls have recorded nine victories in their last 10 contests, including both of the games they have played in the new year. And they are averaging 102.8 points per game, which is the eighth-best mark in the league.
The reasons behind the Bulls’ success this season can be attributed to having Derrick Rose back in the mix along with Jimmy Butler having a breakout season. And thanks to the solid play of Pau Gasol, Aaron Brooks and other key members of the second unit, Tom Thibodeau has been able to use different lineups when key players have missed games due to injuries.
And while the Bulls have more depth than what we have seen in years past, there is still room for improvement. Having said that, here is a short list of things the Bulls should be striving for in the new year.
