NBA Awards Watch: Who Can Stop Our No.1, Andrew Wiggins?
10. Marcus Smart – Boston Celtics/PG
Last Week: NR
When it came to playing the point guard position, Marcus Smart had a great week. In one of his first games of the week Smart had a good game against the Brooklyn Nets. The Celtics lost 109-107 but Smart had a decent floor game with five points, three rebounds, six assists and four steals.
The defense that he played was awesome and as long as Smart keeps playing well defensively he’s going to keep the Celtics in a position to win close games.
After his game against the Nets he found himself playing against the best point guard in the league, John Wall. Smart couldn’t live up to the billing only finishing with three points, two rebounds and two assists in 14 minutes of playing time. But how many point guard in the league could match up with Wall?
Thankfully his NBA peers are starting to realize that Smart’s defense is appreciated.
