Should LeBron James and Dwyane Wade look to reunite at some point in the near future?

LeBron James made his return to face the Heat in Miami on Christmas Day, and came away with a loss. The Cleveland Cavaliers have been struggling this season with their new three-star lineup, and head coach David Blatt has been receiving a lot of criticism as well.

It has become a very frustrating situation for everyone in Cleveland, and rumors have begun coming up that James could leave Cleveland following the season. A new video that has surfaced from the Christmas Day game between the Cavaliers and Heat, seems to shed more light on James considering reuniting with former teammate Dwyane Wade.

Take a listen to what James said to Wade and make your own decision on what he meant.

After listening to this video, it sounds like James is saying that if things don’t get better in Cleveland he will look to reunite with Wade and do bigger and better things.

Does that mean that James is already looking ahead and planning to leave Cleveland for the second time? If that is the case, Cavaliers fans would be filled with a hatred greater than any athlete has ever been hated. James said that he would never leave Cleveland again after signing with them this past offseason, and leaving after just one year would be a huge mistake.

Cleveland hasn’t meshed yet with each other, and Kevin Love especially has been struggling this season. Part of the reason for the struggles that the Cavaliers have had are not having enough veterans and relying on players that have never had to take a back seat before.

So with all of that being said, should James and Wade look to reunite in the near future if this season doesn’t get better for Cleveland?

As far as the business side of things, it would be a no-brainer for James and Wade to team up again. They fit perfectly alongside of each other, and Chris Bosh was a great compliment player to them as well. Miami built a veteran filled team around James each year that he was with the Heat, and they gave him the best chance to win championships.

James is now realizing that leaving the Heat was a knee-jerk reaction to coming up short in embarrassing fashion against the San Antonio Spurs last season in the NBA Finals.

That being said, from a player standpoint it wouldn’t be smart to leave Cleveland after just one season. The Cavaliers welcomed him back with open arms after the way that he bailed on them the first time, and leaving after one season would hurt his reputation and legacy.

More from Hoops Habit

Miami would be more than welcome to make room for James again if he decided he wanted to return, and Wade would be more than happy to have his old running mate back as well. Even though those factors would line up, the Cavaliers will have the ability to make some moves to keep James happy as well. Firing Blatt appears to be the most likely move at this point in time, but there are roster moves that they could pursue as well.

Reuniting with Wade would be something that would help James win more championships, without a question. Now that Wade appears to be healthy and able to play much more consistently than he was last season due to injury issues, bringing James back with him would be dangerous.

All of that being said, it would not be wise for James to make a move immediately following his first season back in Cleveland. It has been disappointing so far, but that type of move would not be smart. Despite all of that, James appears ready to make a move if the Cavaliers can’t turn things around and become title contenders.
