Defense

Defense hasn’t exactly been a staple of the Brooklyn Nets’ play either, as once again it’s tough to find a true positive. The Nets aren’t particularly active defensively, and as a result they post low steals and blocks numbers. They rank 19th in steals per game at 7.2, and 24th in blocks with only 4.2.

The Nets allow 103.5 points per 100 possession, leaving them 14th in defensive rating. One area where Brooklyn could definitely use some improvement is in how they defend out on the perimeter.

With the league growing more and more fond of three-point shooting, perimeter defense is more important than ever, and at 35.9 percent, the Nets are giving up the 11th highest mark in the NBA.
