Friday, Jan. 2 – vs Cleveland Cavaliers

The Hornets’ first matchup with the Cavs was a very up-and-down affair. Despite starting out the game down 21-0, they were able to mount a comeback and make things competitive. Without such a slow start, this could have had a different result.

Cleveland has experienced some growing pains to begin the year – something to be expected with so many new faces in town. This is exactly why the Hornets need to capitalize on this game in particular.

The Cavs are going to figure it out eventually, so every game before they do is something to take advantage of.

Charlotte will actually finish up this series early as well, playing again in Cleveland on January 23rd. If the Hornets can win the second game and tie the series at 1-1, that should give them the confidence necessary to steal one on the road.

The Cavs have proved that they’re very beatable right now, and the Hornets need to make the most of that.
