27. New York Knicks
Record: 5-25
Last Week: 0-3
Previous Rank: No. 27
The New York Knicks had somewhat high expectations entering the 2014-15 NBA season. Seven-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony returned to Madison Square Garden and 11-time champion head coach Phil Jackson took over as the president of basketball operations.
Thus far, it hasn’t been pretty.
The Knicks are currently 5-25 and have shown no signs of improvement. They’ve lost 15 of 16 games and are in the midst of a five-game losing streak.
Somehow, New York is only 8.0 games behind the Brooklyn Nets for the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference.
Traditionally, having a player of Anthony’s status all but guaranteed a trip to the playoffs. Somehow, the Knicks have managed to build a roster that has no trouble imploding and leaving the loyal fans scratching their heads.
The only reason someone wouldn’t have New York near the bottom would be name value.
