NBA: 5 Teams That Should Pick Up Josh Smith

5. Dallas Mavericks

Mark Cuban has made it very clear that he is willing to pay for another championship, and this is a chance for him to prove that. Josh Smith would have to accept a lesser role on an extremely talented Dallas Mavericks team, but he would likely end up being the first man off of the bench. He would fit very well into the up-tempo style of offense that Rick Carlisle runs, and would be a help on defense as well.

Dallas doesn’t have a lot of money to offer Smith, but they will likely try to convince him to join their championship run for at least one season. There is no question that the Mavericks are one of the favorites in the Western Conference with the trade to acquire Rajon Rondo, and it would be hard for Smith to turn them down. The Mavericks are certainly a darkhorse team to keep an eye on.
