Which five NBA teams should make a run at signing recently waived forward Josh Smith when he clears waivers?

The Detroit Pistons shook the NBA up today by waiving former star forward Josh Smith using the stretch provision. Detroit had been looking to make a trade involving Smith for awhile, but apparently they didn’t feel that the offers for him were worthwhile.

No matter what the reason, Smith is now on waivers and will be for the next 48 hours. It is a safe bet that no one is going to claim him on waivers, and that he will clear and become a free agent with the ability to sign anywhere that he would want. There are a few teams out there that want him, and there are a couple that could desperately use his skill-set.

That being said, it will be intriguing to see which teams end up making an offer to him. He has the type of game that can make a major impact on any team that signs him, but the way that Stan Van Gundy cut him the way he did raises major concerns.

All of that being said, which five NBA teams should look to pick Smith up after he clears waivers?
