Phoenix Suns trade Miles Plumlee and a future draft pick to New York Knicks for Samuel Dalembert

The Knicks are a huge mess right now and if Carmelo Anthony is willing to waive his no-trade clause (rumored), then nobody is off limits. New York needs to get more athletic and has to replenish their draft pick stash. Luckily, the Suns have picks in spades and Plumlee would benefit from (another) change in scenery.

Dalembert has been better than his stats say on defense this season. He leads the Knicks with 2.9 blocks per-36 minutes, and although he plays on a team that is horrific defensively (27th in defensive rating), Sam has held his own at the rim, allowing just 41.9 percent, while facing an average of 6.2 shots per game.

Dalembert’s 36 blocks would immediately lead the Suns. While his offense…well…leaves something to be desired, the Suns offense doesn’t require the center to pass nearly as much as the Knicks offense does. He would be a short-term fix for sure, but at a very low cost.
