Phoenix Suns trade Gerald Green to Denver Nuggets for Jusuf Nurkic

The Nuggets are stacked at center, with J.J. Hickson, JaVale McGee and Timofey Mozgov all keeping Nurkic on the bench. They struggle shooting the 3-point shot, at just 32.8 percent as a team, good for 24th in the NBA. This trade helps both teams to address major liabilities.

Nurkic hasn’t had an opportunity to show what he can do on a larger scale just yet. He’s appeared in just 12 games, averaging 9.9 minutes in those appearances. However, he’s also racked up five steals and 10 blocks in that time and is allowing just 40.6 percent at the rim.

While the Suns wouldn’t love losing Green’s explosive abilities off the bench, I’m of the opinion that Green’s horrid defense and poor decision making will stand in the way of their playoff aspirations.
