5. Trade Deadline Deal

Mark Cuban and Donnie Nelson have made no secret of the face that the Mavericks’ are playing for a championship this season. With a first round pick and a few expiring contracts at their disposal, it would be a surprise at this point if Dallas did not make a deal prior to the NBA trade deadline.

On the Mavericks’ wish list would be a physical presence in the paint who can defend and rebound or an athletic shooting guard capable of defending the larger, more athletic two guards in the Western Conference. Expect Dallas to put out feelers attempting to gauge what a combination of Raymond Felton and first-round draft pick would net in return.
