Underrated Bench Brigade

One of the criticisms of the Hawks from national media prior to the start of this season was that they had little depth, but this couldn’t be further from the truth.

With the additions of Thabo Sefolosha and Kent Bazemore during the offseason, Atlanta shored up some of the holes in their rotation from last year, but there’s a whole lot more to Atlanta’s roster than judging positional depth.

They may not be made up of marquee names, but the Hawks’ bench understand the way in which the team plays and effortlessly slot in and interchange with the starters. Although they may not all stand out individually, as a collective they’re tough to shake off.

With guys like Schröder and Mike Scott, it’s not uncommon for the bench to come in and be the spark plug that stretches out a lead either.
