Unselfish And Intelligent

The Hawks’ game is all about passing, and finding high percentage shots. It’s not about getting one particular player in their spot, it’s about running plays that will create as many open looks as possible. They do exactly that more often than not.

In the last two seasons the Hawks have ranked second in the NBA in assists, only behind the San Antonio Spurs.

So far this season, the team is averaging 25.5 assists per game, their highest mark since Danny Ferry came to Atlanta, and good enough for fourth in the NBA. It’s not a matter of a handful of good passers on the roster either, it’s just become a culture thing.

From the starters to the bench, the passing is fluid, and they always have their eye on an extra pass that will create a simple basket.
