Jon Leuer

Game: Dec. 7th Memphis vs. Miami 103-87

Stats: 20 points, 1 assist, 12 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block

As I said in the introduction Jon Leuer was the inspiration for this piece. I have always known Leuer was a talented basketball player from watching him play at Wisconsin, but I never thought he would put up a performance like this in the NBA.

Leuer scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in his 24 minutes of action. He shot 7-of-12 from the field, including 2-of-3 from three-point range. He also showcased his athleticism during a highlight reel dunk that sent Twitter buzzing until Russell Westbrook decided to break the Internet with one of his own.

Leuer is turning into a nice piece off the Memphis bench. He is having the best season of his career so far, and is averaging 6.3 points, and 3.7 rebounds per game. Leuer is shooting 48.5 percent from the floor and 50 percent from outside with a PER of 15.29.

Not bad for a guy who could barely get on the floor during his first year with the Grizzlies.
