Memphis Grizzlies: Best Game By Each Bench Player
Quincy Pondexter
Game: Nov. 17, Memphis vs. Houston 119-93
Stats: 13 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds
This early-season meeting with the Houston Rockets turned into a Grizzlies beat-down. Memphis controlled the game from the start and held a large lead throughout most of the game. This meant reserves like Quincy Pondexter got to play more than usual.
Pondexter took advantage of this increase in playing time by getting as many shots up as he could. He went 5-of-14 from the field, scored 13 points, and also played facilitator by handing out four assists. He went into full heat-check mode from the behind the arc, and ended up 3-of-8 from outside.
There were not many options to choose from, so I chose the one where Quincy was able to let it fly. Quincy Pondexter has not been good this season, but he plays hard on defense and on this night he ended up with 13 points. So he’s got that going for him. Keep shooting, Quincy, keep shooting.
