With every move it’s unclear what’s the end-game for the Lakers. Adding Earl Clark isn’t the messiah they’re seeking (and need), but it’s certainly a step above other players available. Regardless of who is added to this Lakers roster, they’re headed for the NBA lottery.

With Kobe Bryant still at it, rookie forward Julius Randle returning next season and the number one draft pick, the Lakers would be in great position to turn their fortunes around.

Clark won’t be solely responsible for enough win shares to push the Lakers to the playoffs. He is enough of an addition to contribute scoring in those small moments where Bryant dishes the ball. It would be in the Lakers better interests to add a no-name guy who will be overseas next season.

While the Philadelphia 76ers have no wins on the season, the Lakers should be focused on being equally unfortunate.
