23. Baron Davis

Baron Davis was once the leader of the “We Believe” era of Golden State Warriors basketball, the time that included the shocking upset of the then top seeded Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the 2007 NBA playoffs.

Davis returned with another solid season, but even though they posted a better record, the Warriors missed the playoffs. That led Davis to leave Golden State and sign with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Davis was hoping to join the rising Clippers, who had just turned in their best season in more than a decade, and their all-star forward Elton Brand. However, soon after Davis agreed to terms, Brand shocked the basketball world by spurning the Clippers and signing with Philadelphia.

This seemed to demotivate Davis, who turned in an injury plagued, lackluster performance in his first season, with rumors swirling that Davis was out of shape and feuding with the Clipper organization.

Eventually, a disinterested Davis was traded to Cleveland in a salary dumping move that also included the Clippers first-round draft pick, which turned out to be No. 1 overall.
