Shelvin Mack

After being one of the most pleasant surprises for the Atlanta Hawks last year, Shelvin Mack has struggled a little to start out the 2014-15 season. Part of the reason why could be pretty simple, Mack’s minutes are down significantly as he’s been jumped in the rotation by the outstanding play of the young German Dennis Schröder.

It may prove to be a case that with less playing time, the former Butler Bulldog just hasn’t got his feet under him so far this season, and if that’s the case, his numbers should start to improve sooner or later. At 37.1 percent from the field, and only 18.8 percent from behind the arc, Mack is comfortably tracking for his worst ever shooting season.

Having shown himself as a guy capable of knocking down shots on the biggest stage during last year’s playoffs though, Atlanta will be looking to get him firing sooner rather than later.
