Kobe Bryant: Top 10 Best Career Performances
By Sam Richmond
March 16, 2007 — Portland Trail Blazers at Los Angeles Lakers
65 points, seven rebounds and three assists in 50 minutes
The first game in Kobe’s 50-point game streak that we discussed earlier was a 65-point outburst on the Portland Trail Blazers.
Bryant shot 23-for-39 from the field, 8-of-12 from outside and 11-for-12 from the line en route to the fourth best scoring game in Lakers history.
Bryant did it all in this one, including knocking down clutch shots. Bryant scored an impressive 24 fourth quarter points, three of which came on an outside jumper that tied the game and forced overtime.
He then drilled a contested corner three with 44 seconds left in overtime to give the Lakers a three-point lead and then made two more free throws with 17 seconds left to ice the game.
This was one of those games that reminded everyone just what an incredibly pure shooter Bryant is. He seemingly couldn’t miss and was able to help the Lakers steal a win from Portland.
