David Lee is making progress as he works to return to the court for the Golden State Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors have been one of the best teams in the NBA to start the season, and they are currently sitting at 8-2. David Lee hasn’t been able to play much at all this year, and has only played in seven minutes of one regular season game. It appears that he is on his way towards returning from his hamstring injury, and the Warriors will be more than happy to welcome him back when he is ready to go.

Take a look at the statistics that he put up last season with Golden State:

New Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr talked to the media about how much they have missed Lee so far this year.

"“We miss his scoring. We miss him being a low-post threat. We’re different without him. Fortunately, we’ve been able to win, and Draymond (Green) and Harrison (Barnes) have each given us a different look at the ‘4.’ That’s helped us develop a different dynamic — sort of a space-and-stretch team — but it will be great to have David back with the rebounding, low-post scoring and passing.”"

Having him back on the court will make the Warriors an even more complete and dangerous team for opponents. They have three-point shooting, defense, rebounding, and will add even more scoring and rebounding when Lee returns. He also brings great leadership and experience with him, and that will be a major key for Golden State as well.

At 31 years of age, there isn’t much time left for him to keep playing at the top of his game. The Warriors know that this is the year they have to make a run at a championship if they want to win one with their current roster, due to the contracts of some players and age of others. Lee is going to be a huge addition when he returns, and the Warriors will be able to play their complete game.

Kerr has done an excellent job in his first season as an NBA head coach, and he has his team playing at a better level both offensively and defensively than they have over the past couple of season. There is no denying that they have the talent to compete to represent the Western Conference in the NBA Finals, but they have to continue playing at a high level defensively.

Expect to see Lee make his comeback in the fairly near future, and hopefully for the Warriors he will not suffer any more setbacks.
