5. Northern Iowa (2-0)

In perhaps the best game during ESPN’s 29-hour basketball marathon, Northern Iowa defeated mid-major foe Stephen F Austin 79-77 on a Paul Jesperson’s put-back with 39.7 seconds left in overtime on Tuesday in Nacogdoches,Texas.

The Panthers rallied from an eight-point deficit to tie the game with 50.8 seconds remaining in the second half. Marvin Singleton led five players in double-figures with 15.

Senior forward Seth Tuttle leads UNI with 18.5 points and 8.5 rebounds a game. He is shooting 72.2 percent from the field. Junior Wes Wespun is the only other player averaging double-figures with 13.5 points. He is also averaging 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists a game.

UNI defeated North Dakota 64-52 to open up the season.
