3. Florida Gulf Coast (3-0)

Florida Gulf Coast is 3-0 for the first time as a D-I member as the Eagles defeated Ohio 79-62 on Wednesday night . FGCU also has victories over UC Santa Barbara (81-75 in OT) and D-II Nova Southeast (63-51).

Senior guard Bernard Thompson finally got into an offensive flow against Ohio. Thompson scored a season-high 34 point on 14-of-20 shooting from the floor, including 3-of-7 from beyond the arc. He came into the game shooting just 28.5 percent from the field and averaging 10.0 points a game.

Brett Comer, the team’s leading scorer coming into the game, didn’t score but dished out 10 assists to become the Atlantic Sun Conference’s all-time leader in that category (641).
