9. Green Bay (1-1)

Green Bay traveled to Madison to battle the No. 3 Wisconsin Badgers on Wednesday. The Phoenix fought hard but were ultimately overpowered by the Badgers (84-60).

Green Bay kept things close for much of the first half and pulled within two points (26-24) on a Kiefer Sykes layup with 5:57 left in the half. Wisconsin ended the quarter on a 12-5 run and took a 38-29 lead into halftime. Green Bay was out-rebounded 45-31.

Kiefer Sykes, one of the top mid-major guards, led the Phoenix with 20 points on 9-of-17 shooting from the field. He is averaging 21.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists a game.

Green Bay opened the season with a 88-57 victory over D-II Illinois-Springfield.
