Aaron Gordon – Orlando Magic/PF

It sucks that the Orlando Magic games won’t have as much excitement now that their rookie power forward Aaron Gordon is gone. With a broken foot, we don’t know if Gordon is going to have surgery that might keep kim out the year. Right now he is indefinitely out of the lineup, and I couldn’t have more sadness.

Just like the Boston Celtics rookie point guard Marcus Smart, this injury hurts because Gordon was beginning to hit his stride as a professional basketball player.

The Magic were giving him minutes sparingly and primarily leaving him with the toughest defensive assignments in games, which played to his favor, but then his howling defense led to his offense coming along. Hopefully we can see Gordon play again this season.

This rookie was having a terrific year and was going to take a huge leap in the next few weeks because of his offense picking up.

It’s going to suck to not see the Andrei Kirilenko clone play for a while but soon enough Gordon will create nightmares for players.
