Derrick Rose pulled his hamstring in the Chicago Bulls’ 100-93 win over the Toronto Raptors and there is some concern moving forward.

The Chicago Bulls were able to pull out a 100-93 win over the Toronto Raptors last night, but they didn’t do so without seeing superstar point guard Derrick Rose go down with yet another injury late in the game. It doesn’t appear that the injury is too serious, but he pulled his hamstring a bit and it could be a nagging concern moving forward. Rose has been dealing with both ankles having issues all season long, and now seeing this is simply not a good thing.

Rose has been downplaying the injury since it happened, but any injury that Rose suffers is going to be under much more scrutiny with his history. He talked to ESPN about the injury and his thoughts on the seriousness of it.

"“I guess it’s cramps in my hamstrings. But I think it’s minor, and they decided to pull me out. I don’t think it’s that serious. Just ice it, stim, see if I can practice [Friday] and give it a go Saturday.”"

"“I don’t know, man.Just missing two years, now you’re just going to fall for no reason I guess, man. Just trying to work every day, put in consistent work every day. And don’t lose any confidence with these setbacks.”"

Needless to say, the Bulls cannot afford to see Rose go down for another long stretch of time. They have put together a team that they fully expect to compete for a championship this year, but they will need a healthy Rose to be able to make that run.

Despite the injury, Rose still finished the game with 20 points and four assists on the night. He showed a lot of explosion and was making an aggressive move to the basket when the hamstring pull occurred. Chicago has still liked what they have seen out of Rose, and they are confident that he can keep himself on the court and playing at the high level that they need.

That being said, Rose has received quite a bit of hate from the media for the way that he and the Bulls have handled his injury situations. Whether newspapers are calling him out for being damaged goods or fans are calling him out for being week, the star point guard can’t seem to catch a break.

When everything is said and done, he and the team doctors are the ones that know what his body can handle and what it cannot. They are making every decision based off of what is best for Rose personally long-term, and what is best for the team long-term. If he sits out a game or two with this hamstring pull and the ankle issues he has had, it is due to the Bulls’ doctors telling him that it would be in their best interest.

It’s certainly encouraging to see Rose come out and downplay the injury, but it is still something to keep an eye on moving forward.
