Funniest Moment: Kyle Anderson – San Antonio Spurs/SG

What’s the best way to get the attention of someone you want to impress? Do anything outlandish and extraordinary. The San Antonio Spurs rookie Kyle Anderson was going to have to do anything to earn the attention of coach Gregg Popovich.

When checking into the game against the Houston Rockets last Thursday night Anderson did just that. The rookie forgot to tuck in his jersey and drew a delay of game warning.

This was an absolute classic moment for any rookie in the NBA. Anytime any reporter asks Anderson how he knew he arrived in the NBA we have to hear him say “When I walked into my first game without my jersey tucked in and got a delay of game warning.”

Anderson played well regardless of his flub. He had a bad night shooting going 1-for-8 from the floor, but besides that Anderson was solid. He finished the game with four points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.

At least Popovich got a better assessment of his game in the 31 minutes Anderson got to play. I’ll say it again, this rookie is good and we can’t wait to see him play more.
