3. Isaiah Thomas has found a home

In his first two games as a Phoenix Sun, Isaiah Thomas quickly made his case known as a top candidate for the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award. In his season debut, Thomas put up 23 points on an incredible 9-of-11 shooting night. Thomas also drilled five of his seven three-pointers and added three assists during his 20 minutes of action. Two nights later against the Spurs, I.T. went off, once again for a team-high 23 points and four assists.

Like pretty much everyone else on the roster, Thomas struggled against the Jazz, going 3-for-11 from the floor for 10 points in 21 minutes. But through three games, Thomas is Phoenix’s leading scorer at 18.7 points per game and he’s shooting 56.4 percent from the floor. Even though Thomas’ numbers won’t stay this high all season, he’s quickly proven he’s capable of providing instant offense off the bench.
