We’re seven days into the 2014-15 NBA season.  Already?  It seriously feels as if it was two hours ago we were sorting through all the major predictions for this coming year, lining out who would surely be surprising the rest of the league.

This world is full of surprises, but the NBA holds a special place for all the major shockers.

For the most part, we’re not set up to be completely shocked this season.  The Spurs will still be formidable, it’s nearly a sin to pick against a LeBron-led team to reach the Finals, and League Pass continues to be the only coffee you need.

However, there are always a few things early in the season that catch our eye.  They may not be the sentiments that should be taken all that seriously, or they may be the underlying storylines of the season brewing right in front of our faces.

We understand it — the first week of the season is an incredibly small sample size.  It’s three or four games, at the most, and perhaps not a lot can be taken away from that.  Nonetheless, you would be ill-advised to just act in a blind manner to some of the things building on the NBA’s front.

What are the five major things we’ve learned one week into the NBA’s glorious season?  Let’s find out.
