3. Sharing is caring

Jackson coached a fundamentally sound defense, but the offense relied far too much on Curry trying to make something happen late in the shot clock. Ball movement just wasn’t a point of emphasis and despite having some elite offensive talent, Golden State was a middle-of-the-pack offense. Under Kerr’s new motion offense, passing the ball is a key focus. Last season, passing the ball wasn’t particularly high on the Golden State Warriors’ priority list:

This season, however, has given us a look at an entirely new offense where sharing the ball leads to better looks. The Dubs are averaging 105.7 points and 24.3 assists per game, marks that nearly lead the league. Sure it helps when the Splash Brothers are combining for 55 points per game, but between the elite defense and an offense that’s finally living up to the talent of its personnel, it’s no wonder the Dubs are off to a quick 3-0 start.
