The first week of the NBA season has officially concluded and it was a week full of stories and excitement. There hasn’t been this much excitement surrounding a season in quite some time, and it will be a fun season moving forward as well.
Klay Thompson and Chris Bosh were named the NBA’s Player of the Week for the Western and Eastern Conferences respectively, and they both put up monster weeks.
Thompson led the league in scoring at 29.7 points per game, and shot 45.5 percent from behind the three-point arc. He was rewarded for his improvement and play with a four-year maximum contract extension, and definitely played up to that new deal. Golden State looks to be a very dangerous team with an incredibly high-powered offense, and Thompson is going to have a huge season.

Bosh on the other hand averaged 25.7 points per game, 11.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. He helped lead the Miami Heat to a perfect 3-0 week, which was the only undefeated record in the Eastern Conference. Miami was in desperate need of him stepping into this type of leadership role, and he has responded very well and has proven that he is more than capable of doing just that.
Both of these players are in for big seasons with their respective teams, and both players were more than deserving of this award. It will be intriguing to see how they both continue forward over the next few weeks, and whether or not they can keep being main leaders for their teams.
