4. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

Stephen Curry hasn’t been a bad defender throughout his career, but he certainly hasn’t been a player that makes people think of the Defensive Player of the Year. He is, however, one of the NBA’s most prolific scorers and an incredible three-point shooter.

In the Warriors’ first regular season game against the Sacramento Kings, Curry hounded opposing guards to the tune of six steals. He has the ability to put up big steal numbers each and every game, but he’ll need to focus on exerting a lot of energy defensively as well in order to do that. Golden State relies heavily on him at the offensive end of the court, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him slip off of this list fairly quickly.
