Who are the NBA’s ten top candidates after the first few days of the 2014-15 season for the Defensive Player of the Year award?

The NBA season is finally in full swing and it’s finally time to begin looking at award race across the league. As usual there are plenty of stories to keep an eye on throughout the season, and there are even more this season than there have been in years past.

Whether the story be about LeBron James returning to Cleveland, all of the injuries to key players across the league, or simply where a team will finish in the playoff standings, there are plenty to enjoy for big fans. The award races are one of the more intriguing things to keep an eye on throughout the regular season, and that will be the case once again especially with the Defensive Player of the Year award.

Last season’s winner was Joakim Noah, who edge out Roy Hibbert after the late season collapse that the Pacers had. There are plenty of potential candidates to win the award this season, but it will be a very competitive race.
