The Boston Celtics are in something of a confusing rebuild. They’ve loaded up on point guards and power forwards, have built a young roster and are unwilling to part ways with the superstar in his prime.

Rebuild or not, that player is Rajon Rondo.

Chances are, he’s not going anywhere.

Rondo, 28, is a four-time All-Star and four-time All-Defensive Team selection. He’s also a two-time NBA assists leader and a former steals champion whose two-way greatness has been put on display on massive stages.

If Boston is to turn heads and compete for a playoff spot, it’ll be behind Rondo’s leadership. The likes of Avery Bradley, Jeff Green, Kelly Olynyk, Marcus Smart and Jared Sullinger create a talented roster, but it’s Rondo who brings it all together.

He could be traded, but as long as Rondo’s in Boston, he’s the team MVP.
