The Indiana Pacers have been waiting on the injury updates for George Hill, David West, and C.J. Watson for the past few days, and they got some very disappointing updates this afternoon. According to a report from the Pacers’ official Twitter account, they will be without Hill for at least three weeks, West for three games, and Watson will miss at least a couple of weeks.
Needless to say, this is brutal news for the Pacers as they have already lost Lance Stephenson and Paul George from last season. Hill was needed to step up the scoring, while West is their emotional and verbal leader. Watson is Hill’s backup at the point guard position, and provided some scoring from the bench last season at times when he wasn’t dealing with nagging injuries.
Hill is obviously the biggest loss, and there is a chance that he could miss even more time than three weeks. The Pacers are a borderline playoff team, and many have them as one of the first teams out due to the injury issues they have and the fact that they’re missing their superstar for the entire season due to a broken leg.

All of that being said, this news means that Donald Sloan will step into the starting point guard role for the Pacers. He had a great preseason, but didn’t play very well last season with the Pacers.
Indiana is going to have a very rough start to their season with Hill and West, but hopefully they can heal quickly and get back on the court without missing more time than they currently are listed at.
