10,000+ Assists

If only one statistic is to be reference, it’d have to be Steve Nash’s assist numbers. After serving as more of a shoot-first player with the Dallas Mavericks, Nash’s all-time facilitating abilities were unleashed with the Phoenix Suns.

The results were unforgettable.

Nash averaged at least 10.5 assists in seven of eight seasons from 2004-05 to 2011-12. The lowest point he ever reached in that time frame was 9.7 in 2008-09.

That consistency helped him become No. 3 all-time with 10,335 career assists. Only John Stockton and Jason Kidd finished their careers with more dimes than he.

Nash has led the league in assists in five separate seasons. The only players to do it more times than he are Bob Cousy, Oscar Robertson and Stockton.

When a player is mentioned in the same breath as Cousy, Kidd, Robertson and Stockton, they had a Hall of Fame career.
