Jason Kapono

A nine-year veteran, Kapono’s experience gives him an edge over his younger competition. His three-point shooting gives him another advantage, since he’d fill a need off the bench as someone who could spread the floor and add to the Warriors’ potent three-point assault. Kapono is a career 43 percent shooter from downtown and during the 2006-07 season with the Miami Heat, he converted 51.4 percent of his three-point attempts, taking 3.1 attempts per game.

Since then, Kapono hasn’t exactly shot the lights out. In his last season in the NBA in 2011-12, he shot just 29.6 percent from downtown with the Los Angeles Lakers. Playing for a talented team like the Warriors would take a ton of pressure off him and allow Kapono to enter the game, knock down an open three or two, and hit the bench again. But games like last night’s 0-for-6 performance from downtown won’t do much to help this 33-year-old’s chances either.
